Cognition and Learning -Investigators
Cognition and Learning is broken down on the Investigator pathway into semi-formal, subject-based practice. Children are able to access subject specific content, broken down into small linear steps of learning. We begin by baselining children’s capabilities and teach to a learning context which runs over a three-year period to ensure broad and balanced curriculum coverage. The learning context supports children’s engagement and reflects their interests where possible. Our Investigator curriculum covers national curriculum subjects in a practical play-based way with lots of repletion to embed the skills and knowledge taught. Activities take place outdoors as well as inside the classroom, giving children opportunities to apply their learning in a practical way and to make sense of the world.
