Art and Design Technology
Art and Design Technology is taught through a range of activities for example painting, printing, sculpture, digital media, drawing, textiles and construction activities. Children select from and choose from a wide range of materials and equipment to complete practical tasks and activities. They support and inspire creativity, self-expression and help children to connect with others. Children are taught to use simple tools effectively and to experiment in a holistic way with colour, design, texture, pattern, form and function. Art and Design Technology based learning gives children the opportunity to be imaginative, independent and expressive through accessible, multi-sensory and differentiated activities. Art is taught both as a discrete session or in a cross curricular way.
