SEMH

Ouch! My body- use this communication mat to support your child in telling you what might be wrong if they are unwell or have been hurt.

Feelings- use this mat to support your child in developing understanding of the feelings. You can ask them how they feel or you can tell them how they are feeling and come up with a way to make them feel better e.g I can see you feel sad, lets have a cuddle

Toileting- use this simple schedule to support your child becoming more independent in the bathroom

Communication & Interaction

Core symbols- these are the 12 core words that we use in class. You can use these words to communicate in most contexts. Have a go at using these with your child at home. Playtime or mealtimes are a good tome to use these.

Autumn Timetable- See attached our autumn visual timetable to use at home to let your child know what will be happing in the day. If you'd like one for home please speak to the class team.

Sensory & Physical

Sensory Crafts- Have a go at these sensory activities with your children. Try adding different things each time, work on using a wide range of language to describe your activity soft, sticky, hard etc... This is also a great opportunity to have a go at using our core vocabulary e.g I like the sticky gloop, its a big one, look its shiny.

This term we  are dancing in PE, have a listen to our playlist and try and copy some of the actions on our action acrds.

Cognition & Learning

Dough Disco- This term we  are dancing in PE, have a listen to our playlist and try and copy some of the actions on our action acrds.

Counting Songs- Have a go at singing some of our favorite songs. We like songs that help us count up and down between 0-5. Try this at home, you can use toys as props to help with counting.
