Short Breaks
What is a short break?
A short break can range from an activity which lasts an hour or two through to a few days away from home, and includes day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday activities. These activities provide a positive experience for the child as well as giving parents and carers a break from their caring duties.
Manchester City Council provide a Short Break service for children and young people aged 0-17 with Special educational Needs and Disabilities.
A short break activity is a positive experience for the child whilst giving parents a rest from their caring duties.
To apply for a short break you can apply via the Contact Centre on 0161 2345001.
If your family have previously received a short break, please check when the next review is scheduled and contact them on the number provided here
