DINGLEY'S - EARLY YEARS INCLUSION PROGRAMME
Dingley’s Promise Inclusive Practice Training for Early Years
The Comic Relief funding, which provides the Dingley’s Promise training at no cost to Manchester, will officially end in July 2026. This gives us one final academic year to work together to get all our early years practitioners trained in inclusive practice.
Manchester has been leading the way in the number of schools, settings, health, local authority staff and parents signing up for the training – but we are keen to ensure that everyone signed up also completes the training. We also want to congratulate the 57 schools, settings and childminders that have been awarded Marks of Achievement for training 75% of their early years staff.
Manchester EY settings report the impact Dingley’s training has had on their children, staff, and parents:
- Consistent approach and shared understanding of supporting children with SEND, so that all staff are working to the same goals
- Allowed staff to implement new strategies and interventions to enhance their practice
- Emphasised the importance of good relationships with parents and that they are key to the learning journey of their child
- It has supported sharing of good practice so that parents can put good strategies in place at home
- Raised topics that are central to supporting children with SEND and highlighted the importance of inclusion throughout the nursery for children and staff alike
Two brand new, expert-led courses launched on Friday, 26th September:
- Supporting communication development for early years children with SEND
- An inclusive approach to curriculum and assessment
Please encourage staff to register or complete new/existing courses: https://dingley.org.uk/dingleys-promise-training/early-years-inclusion-programme/
